Solid Sterling Silver with heavy Gold Plate, set with Amethyst

Dimensions: 2 5/8″ by 3 3/8″

St. Cuthbert, bishop of Lindisfarne, England (A.D. 634-687) was dedicated to prayer and missionary work. At the end of his life he retired to a hermitage on Farne Island. After his repose, his relics were taken to Lindisfarne and in A.D. 995 they were placed behind the high altar at Durham Cathedral. Gallery Byzantium’s St. Cuthbert Cross is an exquisitely designed replica of the cross which St. Cuthbert wore when he died. This cross dates from the 6th c. and combines early Byzantine and Northumbrian design elements.

Handcrafted in the USA.  Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.

The cross itself is not too heavy, rather light weight in my estimation, that is to say it will not have you hunched over to wear it, but it does have nice weight, it is not light as feather, nor heavy as brick. I advise that you order pectoral chain be attached by the crafsman at Gallery Byzantium.

I want to offer my heart felt thanks to Kristina who promised me my delivery by Christmas, and it arrived two days before Christmas! I would also like to thank Sephhima who helped me with the shipping. Finally, I want to thank the craftsmen and crafswomen who made the piece and were able to put it together on a short deadline for the holidays.

    Blessings
