Gallery Byzantium’s Byzantine Canterbury Cross is an exquisite design replica of the 9th century Byzantine Cross which was discovered in 1867 in St. George’s Street, Canterbury, England. This cross dates to circa 850 A.D. and was originally cast in bronze. It is a cruciform with triangular panels incised with a “triquetra” pattern symbolizing the Trinity. The intricate design of this cross is a wonderful example of Byzantium’s influence throughout Western Europe.
