St. Panteleimon was a physician in the late 3rd century. He dedicated his life to the suffering, the sick, and the unfortunate and needy. He never turned anyone away and treated all without a fee. He is venerated by the church as a mighty saint and protector of physicians, soldiers, midwives, and crying children to name just a few. We celebrate his feast day on July 27th. His relics can be found at the Putna Monastery (Bucovina, Romania) and at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Romania.
